Clever Koalas - Autumn 1 - Week 3

Congratulations to Violet for being awarded the Star of the Week this week.  Violet Is an absolute joy in class and has been working ever so hard on being organised.  Violet is participating in class discussions and makes valuable contributions - well done Violet!

Star Writer this week goes to Leonard, he has been chosen for his excellent handwriting when publishing his Fu Hao biography.  His handwriting was superbly presented, very neat and all his letters were joined. 

Another congratulations is needed this week for Hannah who was voted to represent the Clever Koalas on Reigate’s Junior Leadership Team (JLT). Well done to everyone who prepared a speech and put themselves forward as a candidate, Hannah obviously impressed everyone with her speech and received the most votes – she has attended her first JLT meeting today!

At the end of last week we celebrated Global Schools Day, we started the day by reading ‘The Is How We Do It’ by Matt Lamothe.  This book follows the story of 7 children from around the globe, it focused on a day in their life including what they eat, what they wear to school and activities they do after school.  In the koalas class we discussed the similarities and differences between each child, we then participated in some hot seating.  The children had to ask each other questions about their day and lifestyle to try and guess which child they were from the book.  We all thoroughly enjoyed this activity and practising our best acting skills. Alisa and Theo very bravely volunteered to show this in our afternoon assembly to the whole school – well done everyone!!
