Cheetahs Class Summer 2 Week 7

Date: 18th Jul 2025 @ 7:48am

Take a look at what Cheerful Cheetahs class have been learning this week ...

Can you believe we’re already in our penultimate week of Year 1?

In Maths, we’ve been getting hands-on with 3D shapes, 2D shapes and repeating patterns. The children have loved exploring the properties of different shapes, using words like vertices and edges like true mathematicians! We've been building, sorting, and spotting patterns all around is!

In English, our curiosity has taken us deeper into the animal kingdom. We've continued researching fascinating facts about all sorts of creatures, and the class has especially enjoyed sharing what they’ve discovered with their friends. One favourite fact that had everyone talking: “Did you know a frog can breathe through its skin?”.  It’s been wonderful to see the children so engaged and enthusiastic about learning and sharing new information.

As we count down the final few days of Year 1, I just want to say I have really enjoyed teaching your children this year. I can remember their first day of Year 1 like it was yesterday. Coming in to a new classroom not knowing where anything is and unsure of the new school routines. I have watched your children flourish throughout the year and it has been a privilege to see them grow, to share their birthdays and teach them the knowledge that they need to continue their learning journey in Year 2.

Wishing you all a fantastic, fun-filled summer holiday and lots of luck for the exciting year ahead. Hoping you make some wonderful memories on your break, rest your brain and most of all enjoy your much deserved time off!
