Cheetahs Class Summer 2 Week 5

English
This week in English, we began exploring Animal Fact Files! The children have loved finding out interesting facts about different animals and are starting to create their own fact files. We’ve also started looking at how we can change words using plurals and suffixes to alter their meaning – for example, turning tall into tallest or giraffe into giraffes. A special mention to _____, who confidently told us, “Giraffes are the tallest!” Well done!

Maths
In Maths, we’ve been learning all about money and telling the time. The children have enjoyed identifying different coins and using them to solve simple problems. We've also been practising how to tell the time to the hour and half past, using both clocks and games. It’s been wonderful to see the children making real-life connections with these important skills!

Topic
We’ve started our new mini topic, Street Life, and it’s already inspiring some brilliant creativity. This week, we looked at the colourful work of James Rizzi, a pop artist known for his vibrant cityscapes and skyscrapers. The children were fascinated by his busy, joyful style and are excited to create their own street scenes in his style.
