Maths

In Maths, we have been practising our number bonds to 20 and then practised making our own number bonds to 20 using numicon. We have also learnt the strategies to help solve missing number problems for addition and subtraction. We have been drawing counters to help us solve these problems. Well done to Jaxxon for accurately drawing his counters to help him solve the problem.

English

In English, we have been talking about our own families to plan our next published piece of writing. We are learning to write a factfile and the factfile is all about each child in the class. The children have been discussing who they live with, what pets they have or want, their favourite holidays and hobbies. We have also looked at what hobbies and holidays that they dislike. Well done to George F who said he likes to go to Slovakia as he gets to see some of his family that still there.

Topic

As part of our 'Funny Faces' project, we have explored how we can attach materials together using a simple stitch. We have also looked and discussed the similarities and differences of a range of portraits. We then recreated a thumbnail portrait of the original. Well done to all of the Cheetahs for trying their hardest as some found it a little tricky, even Mrs Pycroft!
