Cheetahs Class Autumn 1 Week 7

Date: 17th Oct 2025 @ 3:41pm

Maths

In Maths, we have been exploring number bonds to 10 using our part-part-whole models. The children have been amazing at creating addition and subtraction sentences using the same numbers. For example:
8 + 2 = 10, 2 + 8 = 10, 10 - 8 = 2, 10 - 2 = 8.

We called it ‘Swopsies!’ when we swapped the part numbers around and every Cheetah gave it a brilliant go!

English

In English, we’ve been busy planning a teddy bear description. The children are full of lovely ideas and can’t wait to write some fantastic sentences next week. We’re sure our cuddly teddy bears will be brought to life with all their brilliant vocabulary and super sentence skills!

Topic

Our topic this week took us back to the 1950s! We’ve been learning all about home life, school life, entertainment, and transport from that time. The Cheetahs were amazed at how big the television boxes were – and how tiny the screens used to be!

One of the highlights was dancing to rock and roll music, just like the teenagers did in the 50s lots of smiles, giggles, and some pretty cool moves too!

A big well done to all our fabulous Cheetahs for another fantastic week of learning.
