Maths

We have been looking closely at measurement, including length, height, and a final bit of work on time. The children have enjoyed comparing objects around the classroom and using rulers and cubes to measure accurately. A special well done to Harley, who impressed me with his excellent measuring of whiteboards, class cups and pencils.

English

In English, we have been planning our animal fact files. The children have been learning how to pick out key facts and highlight important information. This week we focused on elephants, crocodiles and seals, thinking carefully about what makes each animal unique. 

Topic

In Topic, we have been investigating form in art. We looked at the work of James Rizzi, exploring his bright, bold, pop‑art style. The children then created their own pop‑up houses using cardboard, adding colour, shape and detail inspired by Rizzi.
