Maths

In Maths, we explored the part part whole method to help us solve missing number addition and subtraction sentences. The children worked hard to understand how numbers fit together, and it was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they used the model to find the missing parts.

English

In English, we used describing words and questions to bring the events of the Great Fire of London to life in our writing. The class had some fantastic ideas, and a special mention to Christiano, who shared brilliant descriptions of the grey smokey flames.

Topic

In topic lessons this week, we looked at how daylight changes throughout the year and discovered that the Earth spins on its axis while also travelling in one big loop around the Sun something we call a year.
