English

In English, the children have been learning about The Great Fire of London and Samuel Pepys, exploring how his diary helped people understand what happened at the time. They’ve also been looking closely at the features of a letter. Alongside this, we introduced prefixes and  talked about how adding one can change the meaning of a word, which the children enjoyed experimenting with during their lessons.  Isabel gave great explanations of what each new word meant.

Maths

In Maths, we’ve been comparing numbers and building them in different ways. The children have used ten frames, tens and ones, counters, and cubes to make numbers practically and visually.

Topic

In Topic, we’ve been learning about different types of trees, focusing on the difference between deciduous and evergreen trees. The children have been exploring how these trees change across the seasons.
