Cheetah Class Autumn 1 Week 3

Date: 19th Sep 2025 @ 7:54am

Take a look at what Cheerful Cheetahs class have been learning this week ...

English

In English we’ve been thinking about houses, both real and imaginary. The children had a go at labelling different parts of a house and then used that knowledge to write simple sentences describing Hansel and Gretel’s gingerbread house. Cheetahs came up with some great ideas! Well done to Harriet, who wrote, “The door was made of biscuit!”

Maths

In maths, we’ve been exploring numbers up to 10. The children practised partitioning numbers to 5 and then 10.  They also worked on making number bonds to 5 using counters and cubes. Well done to Jaxxon for independently working out number bonds to 10!

Topic
In topic, we’ve started looking at materials as part of our science work. The children have been describing different objects using words like soft, rough, shiny, bendy and hard, and sorting them based on their properties. There have been lots of great observations and questions from the class. Well done, Cheetahs!
