Butterflies Spring 1 Week 2

In Maths, we are revisiting numbers up to 5. We are practicing counting amounts and matching these to the correct numerals. We also practised representing amounts to 5 on our fingers, including showing 5 as a pair of numbers such as 1 and 4. 

 

Literacy and Topic   

In Literacy, we read ‘Over and Under the Snow’, which included lots of animals hibernating in their underground dens. We talked about why these animals were hibernating and had a go at writing sentences to label parts of the story.   

As part of our winter learning, we explored ice! We enjoyed holding the ice, describing it and seeing what happened to it in our warm hands. Then, to investigate where ice melts the quickest, we put it in three different areas; the desk, the radiator and outside. It melted the quickest on the radiator and didn't melt outside because of the frost!
