Butterflies Spring 1 Week 1

Well done everyone for a great first week back! You have all settled back in well, remembering our routines and rules. 

 

In Maths, we are exploring 2D and 3D shapes. We practiced naming different 2D and 3D shapes and explored the properties of them. Then we built models using 3D shapes, we made towers, bridges and castles! 

 

Literacy and Topic   

On Monday, we are thinking all about winter. We talked about the signs of winter and why we need to wear our coats, hats and gloves. Then, we went on a winter walk, spotting the snow, frost and ice.  

In Literacy, we read ‘The Gruffalo’s Child’ and created a story map as a class to represent the journey the Gruffalo's Child goes on. Lots of us then made our own story maps during provision time. On Wednesday, we had a go at writing sentences to label different parts of the story.
