Bears Summer 1, Week 2

 

 

In Maths, we are practicing our counting. We have recapped the rules of counting and practiced counting different amounts and different things. We talked about strategies that can help us when counting large amounts e.g. put them in a line or move them as you count them. We also talked about what we can do when we can't move them to count, so we practised crossing off the items we had counted. 

 

 

In Literacy, we read the story ‘First Day at Bug School’. We named the different bugs and described them before writing down our descriptions.To link to our story, we learned about different bugs this week. On Tuesday, we used the National Geographic website and ‘My First Book of Garden Bugs’ book to find out some interesting facts about bees and ladybirds. On Wednesday, we used the Butterfly Conservation website and ‘My First Book of Garden Bugs’ book to find out more about butterflies, to help us raise our caterpillars.
