Bears Summer 1, Week 1

It has been great to see everyone again and hear about all the lovely things you got up to over the Easter holidays! Everyone has settled back in well and we have had a great first week back!

Maths

In Maths, we have been exploring measure. We have learned about capacity, weight and height, making comparisons. We used different sized containers/jugs to explore capacity, counting the number of cups of water it took to fill each container. We explored length and height using our wooden blocks and look at weight using balance scales. 

Literacy and Topic   

This week, we had a very exciting delivery! We have got our own caterpillars to raise this half term and watch them become butterflies! We are so excited!

In Literacy, we read the story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. We talked about the lifecycle of a butterfly and how our own caterpillars will go through this cycle. Then, we wrote about what the caterpillars look like now.

As part of our Sunshine and Sunflowers topic, we talked about the seasons. We compared the weather, plants and animals we see, using pictures to help us. Then, we talked about outdoor activities that we enjoy now the sun it out and drew our favourite activity.
