Bears Autumn 1 Week 7
Date: 23rd Oct 2025 @ 7:41am
Take a look at the Brilliant Bears' learning this week...
Maths
In Maths, we are learning about the number two! We talked about what pairs means and found examples of pairs, including socks and shoes and discussed different things that require two of something, e.g. a bike needs two wheels. We looked at different representations of two, including cubes, numicon and tens frames. Then, we had a go at an activity where we had to circle all the representations of two. Miss Benson was very impressed with how well we spotted the representations of two!
Literacy and Topic
In Literacy, we read ‘Once There Were Giants’ by Martin Waddell. We talked about the family in the story and how they compared to our own families. Then, we drew who is in our family and had a go at labelling them, using the initial sounds.
On Monday, we learned all about the Hindu celebration Diwali. We listened to story of Rama and Sita to understand why Diwali is celebrated. We also looked Rangoli patterns and had a go at colouring in our own Rangoli patterns. We are going to be learning more about this celebration next half term!
