Date: 13th Oct 2026 @ 3:13pm
⭐ Star of the Week ⭐
To start our week, a huge well done goes to Kenzie, who has been working incredibly hard to improve his writing. He has been focusing on using ambitious vocabulary, expanded noun phrases and relative clauses in his work linked to Maroon Town, Jamaica in the 1950s. We have been really impressed with the effort and determination he has shown, well done Kenzie!.
✏️ Star Writer ✏️
Our Star Writer this week is Coby.Coby has produced some fantastic writing in English, all linked to our topic on the Windrush Generation and Jamaica. His hard work and creativity have really stood out, and he should be very proud of his achievements.
This week was also our Class Assembly. Thank you to all the family members who were able to come and support us. The children thoroughly enjoyed sharing their learning and were incredibly brave when speaking in front of the rest of the school. A personal highlight was watching everyone sing and sign along to Hey Mr Miller plenty of smiles and energy were seen throughout the performance!
On Thursday, we celebrated Global Schools Day. The children came to school dressed in colours or clothing representing their country of origin, or the heritage of their parents / grandparents. It was wonderful to celebrate the many cultures that make up our school community. We enjoyed learning more about traditions, dances and foods from around the world that have become part of life in Britain today. We focused on a fantastic book about South Asia, exploring a range of customs, traditions and ways of life.
We hope you have a brilliant weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone next week for more exciting learning in the Awesome Alligators!
