Awesome Alligators - Autumn 1 - Week 3

Date: 25th Sep 2026 @ 9:14am

What another fantastic week in Year 6! The Awesome Alligators have been working incredibly hard, supporting one another and showing us just how brilliant they are.

⭐ Star of the Week ⭐

A huge congratulations to Freya, who is our first Star of the Week in the Awesome Alligators! Freya has shown continuous hard work, always being ready to learn and approaching everything with a fantastic attitude. She has made a wonderful start to Year 6, and we are incredibly proud of her. Well done, Freya!

✍️ Star Writer

A special well done to Louie, who produced an excellent diary entry and really thought about the reader when writing. Brilliant work, Louie!

🤸 Balancing Brilliantly!

We have continued developing our balances in gymnastics this week. It has been wonderful to see the children showing even more trust, teamwork and communication with their partners. They have challenged themselves with some increasingly tricky balances and have done brilliantly!

A BIG thank you to Jemima, who even volunteered to complete one of the balances with me! Thankfully, we made it through in one piece!

In English this week, we have been drafting and writing our Leonard diary entries, inspired by Windrush Child. The writing has been absolutely fantastic! The children have worked hard to think carefully about Leonard's thoughts and feelings, with some even including touches of Jamaican dialect to bring their writing to life.

Finally, we have some VERY exciting news!

A massive congratulations to Theo and Jemima, who have been chosen as our new Head Boy and Head Girl! Their speeches, which they prepared at home and confidently delivered to the class, were absolutely superb. They should both be incredibly proud of themselves and thoroughly deserve their new roles.

Another big well done goes to Norah, who has been successful in becoming a member of the JLT!

That means we now have THREE Awesome Alligators on our school leadership team this year! What an amazing achievement!

Well done, Awesome Alligators. We are definitely living up to our name! 🐊💚

Have a brilliant weekend, everyone!
