Autumn 2025 - Week 1

What a great start to the new year! The children have settled well into class and have been showing us some super learning. 

In Maths this week, we have been looking at Place Value. The children have been looking at the value of digits in a 4-digit numbers. They have also used this knowledge to order and compare them using the less than, greater than and equals symbols. 

During this week in English, the children started looking at a non-chronological report. They found out that they would be writing a non-chronological report to inform Usbourne Books about how to look after a dragon. The children looked at what features make a report including formal and informal lagnuage, facts and opinions

In Topic we have been delving into the past and looking at the Middle Ages and which groups invaded Britain. The children have worked together to sequence historical events using a timeline and discussed why the Romas left Britain. 

In PE, we started learning about different moves in gymnastics with the sports coach.
