Autumn 2 Week 1

In Maths, this week, we have been looking at using the inverse operation to check answers. The children have learnt about commutative calculations and fact families. We have used additions to check if a subtractions calculation is correct and subtraction to check additions. 

In English we have started looking at newspaper reports. The children have learnt that they will be writing a newspaper report for History Today about the Viking invasions. We have started looking at the features that we will need to succeed, including speech and different sentence types. 

In Topic, we have been learning about the digestive system. We started by looking at producers and consumers. That the 3 different types of consumers are carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.
