Autumn 1 - Week 7

Year 6 Weekly Blog 📚✨

This week in Year 6, we have enjoyed a busy and productive week of learning across the curriculum.

English ✍️

In English, we took part in a Skills Week where we focused on developing our understanding of sentences. We explored what makes a complete sentence, identified the different parts of a sentence and learnt about a variety of sentence types, including statements, questions, commands and exclamations. These activities helped us strengthen our grammar knowledge and become more confident writers.

Maths 🔢📏

In Maths, we built on our understanding of multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1,000. We applied these skills to convert between different units of mass, capacity and length, helping us solve a range of practical measurement problems with increasing confidence.

Topic 🌍

In Topic, we reflected on our learning from this half term by creating posters about our favourite aspects of our work on the Transatlantic Slave Trade. We enjoyed sharing our knowledge and discussing the parts of the topic that we found most interesting and memorable.
