Autumn 1, Week 5

This week in Maths, we have been exploring subtraction. We used counters, number lines and crossing off to help us work out answers. We practised taking away and finding out how many were left. A special well done to Hela, who showed fantastic counting back skills using counters!

 

In English, we have continued enjoying the story Oi Frog! and have begun thinking about character descriptions. We shared our ideas about different characters and started using the word 'and' to join our ideas together when speaking and writing. We are becoming more confident at turning our thoughts into full sentences.

 

In Topic, we became geographers and began exploring Mackworth. Using street view images, we looked at different features of the local area, including parks, factories, bridges and other places that people use every day. We enjoyed finding out more about the community around us and discussing what we could see.
