Autumn 1 Week 5

Take a look at the Brilliant Butterflies' learning this week...

 

 

In Maths, we are learning about the number one! We watched the numberblocks episode and talked about what we had seen one of e.g. 1 tree, 1 apple, 1 bird. We used cubes and numicon to explore the number one too.

We also look at charts, creating tally charts and pictograms to represent information about our favourite woodland animals.

 

 

In Literacy, we read the story ‘Wide-Awake Hedgehog’ by Rosie Wellesley. We talked about the different things the animals were doing in the story, including migrating and hibernating. Then we had a go at writing initial sounds for to match pictures from the story, using ‘s’, ‘a’ and ‘t’ which we have learned in phonics this week!

 

 

 

 

REMINDER: On Monday 13th October we are coming to school dressed as real life superheroes e.g. doctors, police, firefighters.
