Autumn 1 Week 4 Blog

Date: 2nd Oct 2026 @ 10:30am

This week in English, the children have completed their story ‘The Stone Age Boy’. The children wrote their alternative endings using their creativity and imagination. They used their knowledge of the stone age to help them with their ideas. They have also published their stories in their neatest handwriting.

In Maths, the children have continued learning different strategies for solving addition and subtraction questions. They have learnt to add and subtract multiples of 10 and 100 using a range of methods.

In History, the children continued  learning about everyday life in the Bronze Age. They looked at wealth and power and how this caused problem in the Bronze age. They discussed how conflicts between the ribes started and how this eventually led to the development of settlements.  They also looked at burial sites in the Bronze age and discussed what this tells us about the lives, beliefs and rituals of Bronze Age people.

In RE, the children learned about the Ten commandments. They learnt the importance and significance of these commandments.
