Autumn 1 w5 Penguins

It has been another busy and exciting week in Year 5!

In Maths, we have been exploring angles and area. We practised identifying and measuring different types of angles before using our knowledge to solve a range of problems. We also investigated area, learning how to calculate the space inside shapes and applying our skills to different challenges.

In English, we have continued our learning about Ancient China through lots of research around Fu Hao, a remarkable military leader and one of the most powerful women of the Shang Dynasty. We used a range of sources to gather information and develop our understanding of her life and achievements.

We have also continued learning about the different Chinese dynasties, comparing how life changed over time and exploring the key events and achievements of each period. This has helped us build a broader understanding of Ancient Chinese civilisation and its lasting impact on the world.

Well done, Year 5, for your hard work and enthusiasm this week! We look forward to another fantastic week of learning.
