Alligators Spring 2 week 5

Date: 26th Mar 2026 @ 4:02pm

This week in Alligators, we have been busy combining our creativity and persuasive writing skills!

In English, the children have been working incredibly hard to write their own persuasive leaflets, all with the aim of convincing Mrs Ratcliff to visit the Arctic. They thought carefully about how to capture the reader’s attention, using exciting vocabulary, powerful descriptions, and persuasive techniques such as rhetorical questions and bold statements. The leaflets highlighted the beauty of the Arctic landscape, fascinating wildlife, and the once-in-a-lifetime experiences it offers. We were so impressed with how confidently the children put forward their arguments—Mrs Ratcliff may find it very hard to say no!

In Art, we have been exploring Inuit art. The children learned about traditional patterns and styles, then designed their own stencils inspired by this work. Using sponges, they carefully applied paint to produce striking designs, experimenting with colour and shape to create bold and eye-catching pieces. The final results were fantastic.

Well done, Year 6, for another week of brilliant effort!
