Spring 1 - Week 3

Huge congratulations to Naelle for receiving Star of the Week in assembly this morning! Naelle has been working so hard to improve her maths and is always wanting to do better.

Well done to Freya for achieving Star Writer this week for her excellent effort with her biography.

We have had another great week of learning in the Dazzling Dolphins.

In English, we have been planning and writing a biography in chronological order all about Mary Anning and the fossils she used to hunt and find. The children have all worked hard on this and turning their plans into paragraphs.

In Maths, we have been multiplying using the column method, at the start of the week we found this very tricky and there was lots of steps to follow. However by the end of the week all the Dolphins were becoming much more confident and were having a go by themselves.

On Thursday afternoon at school we had a fire drill, we all exited the classroom quickly and calmly. Everyone was very safe and followed the instructions given, when we were back in the classroom we had an indepth conversation about fire safety and the key things to do to stay safe. 

In Geography everyone has loved learning all about volcanoes and we started our learning journey about Mount Vesuvius and the effect it had on Pompeii.
